Testimonials

The words of another person who has experienced acupuncture is often more reassuring than anything I could say. Some of the people I’ve worked with have been kind enough to share their own experiences.

From a patient…

Working with Leah was my first experience with Traditional Chinese Medicine and I can’t speak highly enough of her. I went to her with very uncomfortable acne along with menstrual irregularities, both of which had proven quite difficult to overcome. Leah was able to create a series of herbal supplements tailored to my situation that worked incredibly well and twice as fast as I was anticipating upon beginning my work with her. In four months my face is clear and my cycle is back on track. She’s very professional and I greatly appreciated the time she took to understand all the possible variables that could have been contributing to my situation. She’s very patient and did a great job explaining everything and answering my never ending list of questions. Her sole focus was on the healing process and getting me to the point where I no longer require treatments, which we were able to achieve. I would highly recommend Leah to anyone looking for a more natural, lasting method of healing.

From a patient…

I have no doubt that acupuncture is what worked to help me get pregnant.  It helped me physically as well as emotionally.  After struggling with getting pregnant for almost two years, I was spent emotionally and physically.  Acupuncture was my last hope.  After my first session, I felt like a new woman, my energy level was unlike it had been in over a year and I felt optimistic about getting pregnant after being convinced it just wasn’t going to happen.  It was only a matter of months and I got the wonderful news that I was pregnant.  What you were able to do for us was a true blessing and I am forever grateful!

From Anne…
I have recently worked with Leah for two chronic health issues. Leah was extremely thorough in reviewing these issues. I like her holistic approach and the fact that she does not discount “modern medicine,” as being part of the treatment plan for some conditions. Leah is an empathetic practitioner, and I felt very comfortable with her care. I also was impressed with her timely follow-up, responses to emails, and her willingness to research health-related issues. I am happy to have found someone like Leah in the Fox Valley area!

From Sarah…

My husband and I were having trouble getting pregnant. It was a stressful time and I decided to try acupuncture. Leah was very knowledgeable and compassionate. We would start each session by talking about what was going on. The treatments themselves were very relaxing and I always felt better after leaving her office than I did when I arrived. I started working with Leah in February and found out I was pregnant in May!

From Cheri…
Acupuncture improved my physical well-being by 100%. Leah was always totally committed to making me feel better. Chronic pain in my right arm caused me to seek medical help without any resolve of my symptoms. After almost a year of frustrating and painful medical tests, I turned to Leah at Whole Family Health hoping that through acupuncture my arm pain could be diminished to some degree. It took only a couple of weeks for me to experience incredible improvement. To date, I am off any type of pain relievers and I no longer feel the pain in my body that I had before. The acupuncture treatments that Leah gave me have brought back a quality to my life that I thought I had lost forever. I am a firm believer in what Leah and acupuncture can to do for a person’s overall health. Thank you, Leah, for making me feel fabulous again!

From Marie…
I had a great experience while being treated by Leah. Her knowledge and confidence made me feel very secure with her as a practitioner. She was very patient and supportive with my being very needle sensitive. She encouraged me to play an active role in my healing process and as our practitioner-patient relationship developed, I grew to trust her. As I look back now I realize that these were all key ingredients to the progress I made while in her care. I would highly recommend Leah as a practitioner. Her knowledge of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is only a part of what she has to offer, she truly is a great healer.

From Julie…
My name is Julie and I am 47 years old. In May I choose to have my ovaries removed because of a strong family history of ovarian and breast cancer. I started to get mild hot flashes and night sweats but they steadily progressed and by late summer they were awful. My gynecologist called it surgically induced menopause. He suggested that I talk with Leah Olson about Chinese medicine because it was not recommended that I take hormone replacement because of the estrogen. This is why the ovaries were taken out in the first place. Leah has done wonders for me. She put me on some Chinese herbs and although the hot flashes/night sweats are not gone they are so much better and I can tolerate them now! I am hopeful that I will get to a point where they will be completely gone.

From a patient…
I had severe morning sickness with my first pregnancy. I hoped when I got pregnant a second time something would have changed and I wouldn’t get sick again. I was wrong, and in fact it was worse than the first time. I ended up taking medication my midwife prescribed. Not overly pleased about taking pills while pregnant, I started looking for other options for relief. I found Leah, and her treatments immediately started to help. I was able to significantly reduce the amount of medication I was taking and taper off of it quickly. I then started having problems with heartburn and acid reflux. Leah gave me only two or three treatments for that, and the problem went away completely. I have been so grateful for Leah’s help and am now feeling great. I plan to continue treating with her as my due date approaches to help with my labor and delivery.

From Melissa…
I highly recommend acupuncture as supplemental treatment along with a regular physician’s care, and Leah is wonderful! Acupuncture can actually help with many issues. I was having pain in my right lower abdomen, when I went to the doctor I found out I had an infection that lead to inflammation in my fallopian tube. The doctor treated the infection but the fluid in the tube remained. This is known as hydrosalpinx, and the doctor told me there was nothing more they could do to treat it. She said if it continues it can cause scar tissue which could cause many problems, and worst case scenario I’d have to have it removed with surgery! I felt there had to be something else I could do, and I knew from a treated sprained ankle that acupuncture helps reduce inflammation. I found Leah online and she set me up for an appointment immediately, which was on a weekend and I appreciated that. She is professional, and very easy to talk to. I felt comfortable telling her about such a sensative issue. I had three treatments, and some herbs to help. After each one the pain lessened. I was relieved that I knew I would not have to have surgery. Leah also recommended some other alternatives to help. I will surely return to Leah for my future needs!

From Bill…
I wish I would have tried this earlier. I was a skeptic and was unsure if acupuncture actually worked. After shoulder surgery and quarterly chiropractic treatments I still suffered from minor neck and shoulder pain. Day to day stress did not help my symptoms either. My chiropractor recommended giving acupuncture a try. I waited another two months and finally booked an appointment with Leah. She is a true professional, very knowledgeable, a great listener, and genuinely cares. She was able to set up a treatment based on my pain and lifestyle (I am very active running, golfing, softball, etc…). After four treatments this skeptic feels 90% better. I should have done this sooner!

From Marilyn…
For several months I had a sore throat and bronchitis that just wouldn’t go away even after taking antibiotics. I was depressed and stressed. I figured that my energy meridians needed a jump start. Leah treated me for all these complaints without any extra charge! She has extensive knowledge of how to get the energy to move through the body. I was cured in just 3 sessions!!! I spent less money seeing Leah 3 times than seeing the doctor once. In the past, acupuncture played a huge role in curing my interstitial cystitis, too!

From Jessa…
Having acupuncture during my pregnancy not only relieved annoying symptoms like nausea and heartburn, it also helped boost my energy and improve my sleep. In addition to helping during the pregnancy I was also able to use acupressure techniques during labor to help me relax through the contractions. I feel confident that the acupuncture I received from Leah during pregnancy was safe and I won’t hesitate to use Chinese Medicine in any future pregnancies.

From Jerrad…
After injuring my left heel and suffering through plantar fasciitis for 18 months (while following treatment advice from a general practice doctor–stretching, steroid injection, constant icing–to no avail) I sought treatment from Leah at Whole Family Acupuncture. After the first two treatments, I noticed the “throbbing” sensation that I experience from the injury subsiding, and I was able to exercise more often (running mostly) and at a more strenuous pace. I would recommend Whole Family Acupuncture to anyone who is looking for pain relief or to help correct any ailments you may have. It’s a great place for relaxation too! There’s honestly no need to be skeptical of acupuncture– it really works.

From Monica…
Leah treats you with respect, honesty, and compassion. She doesn’t make any unrealistic promises and she clearly explains the theory behind each treatment. I always feel serene at her office and theacupuncture treatments I get there have helped ease my insomnia and anxiety significantly. Leah is truly a healer!

From Melissa…
Leah has been a blessing to me. I have suffered w/IBS, bloating and abdominal pain for years. Nothing I have tried has given me much relief at all, until now. After my first treatment I began to feel relief. While this may not be typical for everyone or in every case, I am truly grateful. Leah is knowledgeable, caring and thorough. Her kindness, compassion and patience has been a gift to me. I HIGHLY recommend giving Leah and acupuncture a try. I had nothing to lose but my pain and suffering, and I am living proof that great things can happen. Thanks Leah!

From Joe…
I started seeing Leah almost a year ago to help with stress and fatigue I had been experiencing. Not only did she provide relief from poor appetite, inability to sleep and overall lack of energy, but I saw my overall health improve as well! The acupuncture is performed in a relaxing and professional environment and Leah is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the treatment. I have and will continue to recommend her to anyone who will listen!

From Kara…
I had the pleasure of working with Leah after my daughter’s birth. I had lingering tailbone pain since her delivery and it was gradually getting worse. With one acupuncture treatment the tailbone pain went away. I felt so much better! I really appreciated Leah’s thorough, warm and professional approach. I would highly recommend her services for any woman during pregnancy or postpartum.

From a patient…
I sought Whole Family Health out as an option to relieve chronic neck and shoulder issues. I was extremely pleased to meet Leah and found her to be very professional and an excellent practioner and genuine in her caring and listening. I have found relief from the chronic neck issues as well as other issues Leah has treated me for including sinus and plantar fasciitis. She has laid out a treatment plan that works in conjunction with other treaments that I am receiving including massage and manipulation. Her goal is not to keep me coming for endless treatments but to have me feel better then move on and see her only when I feel that I need to. Her skill is amazing. I highly recommend her.

From Bonnie…
I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for a year. I had followed recommendations from 2 doctors and was ready to have surgery done on my foot to relieve the pain. A friend recommended acupuncture and gave me Leah s name and phone number. I am so glad I took my friend s advice and made an appointment! Leah was very professional, listened to my issues and then laid out a treatment plan for me. After just 2 sessions, my foot felt better. After about 4-5 weeks, Leah recommended me to an associate for reflexology. I followed Leah s advise and after less than 8 weeks, my foot pain is 90% better! Kate (reflexology) and Leah (acupuncture) genuine care, concern and knowledge have helped me be able to walk and excercise again. I strongly recommend acupuncture as a great alternative treatment for a chronic painful condition and I recommend Leah as a knowledgable and caring acupuncture professional.

A grateful patient…
This is my first acupuncture experience and it has been very helpful. Leah is very compassionate and helps to problem solve issues. She has helpful suggestions beyond acupuncture and remembers your issues and will contact you to see how you are doing. She is very comfortable to work with. Thanks Leah!

From Sharon…
We have used several acupuncturists over the last 25 years – here and in Colorado. Our daughter was 5 when she had her first acupuncture treatment to help clear up chronic ear infections – which it helped immensely. I met Leah Olson about 2 years ago and went to her for help with chronic shoulder pain. I was impressed with her concern and the time she took to “hear my story”. After only a few sessions my shoulder was almost back to normal and free of pain. I highly recommend Leah to anyone who is seeking treatment via acupuncture.

From “N”…
Having visited other acupuncturists, I can honestly say that Leah Olson provides a level of care that outshines others. I have been seeing her for 1 1/2 years for fertility issues. Shortly after beginning treatments with her, I was pregnant! Sadly, I miscarried, but that was due to other circumstances. She has added Chinese herbs to the protocol now. The herbs are in powdered form and consumed like a tea. I can see/feel the difference in my monthly cycles with regard to temps, PMS, etc. It is working! Leah is attentive, caring, and intuitive while also being professional. She is a true health care professional in that she spends time thinking/working on a client’s situation even after the appointment is finished, meaning she will contemplate, research, and strategize if need be. She doesn’t simply pull your chart upon arrival. You are cared for as a unique individual at Whole Family Health, not just a number. If you have never tried acupuncture before, do yourself a favor and give it a try! There is no pain whatsoever. The needles are so tiny and harmless. Each needle is disposable and used only once so it is a very clean, hygienic, and safe process. I recommend giving acupuncture a try and I highly recommend Leah Olson as an acupuncturist. She’s the real deal!
