An Important Partnership

The definition of fertility is the ability to support life. That includes both your own life, and the new life you want to bring into this world. In the struggle to become pregnant, it's easy to lose sight of your own health. At Whole Family Health, we bring the focus back to you. We work together enhancing your cycle, strengthening your body and nourishing your spirit.

At Whole Family Health, you'll find a practitioner you can trust. A practitioner who understands you. A practitioner who will be a partner in your fertility journey, whatever form that may take.

Fertility

Enhancing Your Cycle

For each part of your cycle–follicular phase, ovulation, luteal phase, menses–we use a different acupuncture protocol and a different personalized formula to address any imbalances and strengthen that part of your cycle.  Treatment not only boosts your fertility, it helps improve your overall health and bring you body and spirit back into balance.

At Whole Family Health we utilize acupuncture, moxibustion, personalized herbal formulas, as well as dietary therapy and lifestyle recommendations to help you enhance your fertility and overall health.

Assisting IVF

During an IVF cycle acupuncture is used in much the same way as during a normal cycle, with specific protocols used at egg collection and embryo transfer.  Acupuncture can also be used to address common side effects from fertility drugs.

Additionally, if you are working with a fertility clinic in the Twin Cities, we can arrange onsite pre and post-transfer acupuncture treatments for you through our partnership with Life Healing Life.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and PCOS

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a complicated metabolic disorder that requires a different approach from other fertility treatments.  Our main focus is on stimulating ovulation via acupuncture to the lower abdomen.  Click here to read about promising new research from the University of Virginia showing that acupuncture may be helpful for women with polycystic ovarian disease who are trying to get pregnant.

Male Infertility and Sub-Fertility

We tend to focus on women when it comes to fertility issues, but the reality is that male fertility issues contribute to 50% of all fertility problems.  It is a common and growing problem.  One in 25 men is considered to be sub-fertile.  The good news when it comes to male infertility is that Chinese medicine does have a lot to offer for improving fertility.  Male infertility also tends to be simpler to treat because there is no monthly cycle of hormones.  To learn more about the treatment of male infertility, click here.
